Cicadas on Solomon's Seal

Not a great image, but shows more of what was happening all around us. This small batch is only a representive example of nearly every plant and tree in the garden. The main benefit of this bumper crop was for a friend of mine who came and collected the newly emerged cicadas for delicacies such as Beer Batter Fried, Cajun, Szechuan and Chocolate covered Cicadas. While I was reluctant to partake in this gastronomic feast, he eventually persuaded me and I found them quite tasty, but will not likely make them a staple in my home.
